Sock monkeys came into the plushmaking scene quite a few years back, and it wasn’t until now that I finally gave it a go.
It’s so fun to make. Actually, I own a few craft books dedicated to making plush from socks. Now I want to make more!

BRAND NEW SOCKS. The thought of using old socks….ewwww….
Open one sock, flatten it the other way, then cut a line from the cuff to just before the heel.
Turn it over to the wrong side out, sew the sides (I used blanket stitch), turn back to the right side and stuff away. The heel part becomes its bottom, and allows it to sit. So clever.
Monkey body and legs all in one.
Cut the other sock to make 2 hands, a tail, the snout and 2 ears.
